Space to grow, move and relax freely
Osteopath for children and teenagers in Sint-Niklaas
Children and teenagers develop at a fast pace. Sometimes physical complaints or tension affect how they move, sleep, play or go about their daily activities.
At Praktijk Novia in Sint-Niklaas, children of all ages can see Marie. We take the time to listen to your story and your child's, and tailor the consultation to your child's age, development and needs.
When can you see an osteopath with your child?
Parents book an appointment for, among other things:
• posture problems or scoliosis
• delayed motor development or asymmetrical movement
• headaches, tummy aches or growing pains
• recurrent ear infections or respiratory complaints
• trouble (falling) asleep, disturbed sleep or bedwetting
• recovery after a fall or sports injury
• support for children and teenagers with a disability
Osteopathy for children and teenagers: what happens during a consultation?
Treating a child calls for a calm approach tailored to your child's age, development and comfort.
During the first appointment, we take time to listen to your story and your child's, and to discuss your questions.
We then look at and feel how your child moves, paying attention to development, posture and daily activities.
The treatment is calm, using gentle techniques adapted to what your child finds comfortable.
Your child doesn't need to sit still or be able to tell us everything at once. We follow your child's pace and signals.
You don't have to wait until your child has a clear complaint.
Some parents book an appointment when their child is bothered by something. Other parents look for support during a change, a growth phase or after an accident.
Questions about development, movement, sleep or prevention are welcome too.
You can come to us, among other things, when your child moves differently, falls often, sleeps poorly, has recurring complaints or needs extra support in daily functioning.
Osteopathy does not replace a medical diagnosis or treatment. For medical questions or complaints, always keep consulting your doctor, paediatrician or other healthcare provider.
